Watson Associates Mid Wales League South

Newcastle 2, Newbridge Res 0.

Saturday 10th November 2007

Bright performance.

Newcastle secured a win at the expense of Newbridge Reserves in the Watson Associates Mid Wales League South. Newcastle started brightly and took the lead after ten minutes when Mark Jones went clear down the left flank to place a splendid cross in the path of Edgar Whately who volleyed into the net. Newcastle continued to dominate and create an abundance of chances which all came to nothing. With only a slender lead at half time Newcastle continued their pursuit of another goal, which eventually came after fifteen minutes of the restart, when a beautiful through ball found Craig Morris who beat the advancing keeper.  Newcastle continued attacking the Newbridge goal but the keeper was equal to all Newcastle’s efforts. Mark Jones sparkled in attack for Newcastle as did man of the match Tom Bright in defence.

Newcastle’s next fixture is away at Radnor Valley (New Radnor) on Saturday 17th November kick off 2.30pm.
