Newcastle Football Club
Watson Associates Mid Wales League South
Newcastle 5, Llandrindod Wells Colts 0.
Saturday 23 February 2008
Newcastle missed far more than they scored, when they defeated Llandrindod Wells Colts by five goals to nil in the Watson Associates Mid Wales South encounter at the Mill Field. Carl Price opened the scoring for Newcastle, Ben Harvey hit the post, and Craig Morris got the second just before half time, with lots of chances going begging during the half. Although Llandrindod played some nice football it was all one-way traffic in the second half. Jimmy Thomas hit the bar before Mark Jones made it three for Newcastle. Matt Jones hit the bar, and several more chances were created. Edgar Whately scored a solo effort when he beat the keeper and walked in Newcastle’s fourth. Craig Morris rounded off the scoring from a corner by Matt Jones. Man of the match was Newcastle’s defender Tom Bright.
Newcastle are at home against Builth Wednesdays next Saturday 1st March, kick off 2.30pm.
